The date had been set

Now the time had come

Jill and Jake

Two birds on a bough

They clicked their screens

And started the beat

"I'll sing you a song", he said

"Music to my ears", she went

"I might sing one back", she said

"I'll lend my ears", he went

The duet was on

Jake had the floor

His heart throbbed

And his hands shook

But his mouth spoke

His voice quivered

But the words flowed

Few at the start

Then more as time passed

The forbidded word got spoken

And the flood gates got opened

Out rushed waters of guilt

And Lust-laden fruit

A fight for innocence

A cycle of indulgence

Then he was naked and bare

All had been aired

But unlike he'd feared

Shame wasn't in the air

His mind was at peace

'Cos the burden was off

The shadow withdrawn

His shoulders were light

The veil off his eyes

Then the mic was dropped

Jill had the floor

She spoke of books

She spoke of rues

Teen years of blues

Mistakes of youth

An eagle peered

And startled the birds

But Jill caught her breath

And resumed her song

Of lovers and tunes

Of dances and moves

Then she was naked and bare

All had been aired

But unlike she'd feared

Shame wasn't in the air

She was all at ease

'Cos feet may wander

But the heart's kept it's wonder

And the night may stretch

But daybreak is near
